I can't believe it took me this long, but I would like to share some very exciting news with you guys.
So I have my heart set on India, I want to be a missionary in India when I'm older, and that's just where God has set my heart. And I had been praying for a while about sponsoring a child, and no matter how hard I searched I could not find a christian organization that specified in India. So I just waited and prayed, knowing that if this was what God wanted me to do her would provide.
One day my mom gave me a book called "No Longer a Slumdog", and I started reading it a couple days later. I started reading it, and quickly realized it was about a christian organization that specifies in Asia. I finished the book in a day and was delighted. The reason being that this book was about an organization (GFA bridge of hope) that has a sponsorship program for kids in India! It was such an amazing moment, realizing that God had just opened that amazing door for me. I talked to my parents, and soon I was raising money and praying. Soon after I started looking at kids that needed sponsored. I looked through every single child and prayed that God would show me the one. After almost every child on my list getting sponsored (the lord is great!) the Lord put a child on my heart, telling me she was the one. A week later I got an email saying that I was a sponsor parent! It was an amazing feeling, knowing that I am changing a life of a little Girl in India.
I've been her sponsor parent for two months now.
Though this has been such an amazing journey, I have not raised all the funds yet needed to sponsor her long term. Not even close. To sponsor her until she is 18, it will be more than seven-thousand dollars. Yikes!
But as hard as it is, I am trusting that if this really is what the Lord wants, that he will provide.
I just ask for prayer, that the money will be provided and taken care of. And for my sponsor childs health and faith.
